and it's military galore. Stripes, polka dots, pea-coats...all adorned 'little marc' at this year's stateside fashion event. i personally love the olive green playsuit which you'll see at about 2 minutes and 25 seconds, and the li'l black strapless zip-up dress (4 minutes 44 seconds) especially with the cute ankle socks and pumps (well this is for autumn/winter, gotta keep our ankles wrapped up don't we?)
there was also a great selection of menswear, personally i think marc jacobs is a master of menswear as he manages to combine formal with grunge and casualwear without making it look too scruffy. the perfect solution for young creative types who need to look smart for work without looking like their 50-year old counterparts.
i also loved the bits and pieces of denim that were intertwined to tone down the military general theme, a nice touch and more than suggests that denim is still a key style staple. cute denim dress alert at 4 minutes and 35 seconds.
oh and the fact that jacobs chose a less aggressive version of beastie boys 'fight for your right to party' for the catwalk soundtrack just topped it all off for me, definitely left a 'marc' in my mind for the fashion of the fall season. clever aren't i?
but that's just my opinion...x

RIP...
...alexander mcqueen...
his ability to combine femininity and style never failed to astound me...
a tragic loss to the fashion world...

did i mention...
...i have an addiction to shoes? i don't think i did. well i do. would have become obvious in due time anyway. however, alexander mcqueen's 'armidillo' shoes are a force to be reckoned with, and i'm just not convinced! i'm open to new ideas and one might wonder 'how much more can really be done in terms of shoe design?' well it looks as though mcqueen has the answer, apparently these bad boys are a sell-out!
very fairytale though, and with the new alice in wonderland movie by tim burton due for release in march (5th, day after my birthday, how convenient, excitings!) i guess they'll be a sign of the times.
daphne guinness has already got hers, in pinky-beige satin. a first for the red carpet, but it was lady gaga that championed them first in her 'bad romance' music video, but would we expect anything less from the queen of wacky couture? but more about her drool-worthy shoe collection another time. so will we be seeing a copy of these in topshop, new look, even primark? my guess is...maybe. i'm not sure the high street is quite ready for them just yet, but given the fast-paced nature of catwalk to high street these days and thriving consumer demand i wouldn't be surprised if they end up on the feet of the more adventurous fashionistas soon enough. but that's just my opinion...

this is what...
me and my dad's dog charlie got up to today...
check out his mini-mohican, too much!
you see, Charlie appreciates my fashion efforts and feels sad when i don't include him when i get dressed.
he's constantly nosing in my accessories box and although most things end up in his mouth rather than round his neck, on his head etc, i truly think charlie deserves a mention on the kurtcouture blog for his approach to grunge-pup style.
