leather love

so last night i was invited along to the i love 2 love leather jacket blogger event. BUT that's all i'm gonna say about that for now cos i have pics to upload and a full post about the event coming tomorrow so just sshhh!

but it inspired me to take a look through the kurtcouture archives - with a little help from google - at just a few of my favourite leather clad idols.

i don't see leather ever getting old (not literally, just in the context of style, obvs). leather is just synonymous with cool, unless you're jeremy clarkson. are you jeremy clarkson? if you answered yes then hello and why are you reading my blog? from johnny & kate to madonna a simple leather number can be worn in so many ways and it never fails to add edge to any outfit (again unless you're jezza clarkson).

more on this tomorrow, but for now here's a kids you'll know looking super bad ass and rocking a leather: if you don't recognise them then you'd better go home.

tom hardy appreciation club invites you...

to a massive perving sesh. fell in love with this dude when he was in wuthering heights playing wild bastard heathcliff (i'm sure a more conservative character review can be found elsewhere, but this is kurtcouture ya know). then things just got BETTER. a young whippersnapper in band of brothers, bronson (errr, slightly more brutal appearance, but still hot!), itv drama the take, inception, rocknrolla, the warrior...and i think we can all look forward to his portrayal of bane in the next batman movie. i just wee'd a bit.

so i've been a bit down in the dumps lately - cue tiny violin, i know - but when i got home last night i found kate moss sitting on my doorstep. well, it was actually the june issue of vogue but big diff. so i saw a silver lining. and on opening the magazine the first face i saw was hardy's. and the silver lining became platinum!

i realised it had been a while since i'd google image stalked him, so here i am now, at work, listening to voicemail after voicemail and cramming in a little tom casing woop woop!

without sounding like a 14 year old, there are loads of new totes amaze fit pictures on the internet now, get the fuck in! so i thought i'd share them. beauty personified. just need to get rid of that pesky riley gal!

it certainly gets me excited! the glory days of johnny depp and kate moss. it was the 90s. she was the new face of the supermodel world. he was the sexiest man alive. they were the epitome of grunge and heroin chic. forget the beckhams, they were (and i wish they STILL were!) the golden couple of celeb-dom. sigh, sadly it didn't last...but that only means there's still hope for me! and by that i'd mean i'd take any of them...x

kate moss monday...

...ok i'm aware it's tuesday. it just flowed nicely in my head. watching mary queen of frocks, sponsored  by moss's rimmel lipstick collection. and it got me thinking...when will this woman stop being so damn influential. kate moss that is, not mary portas. but please don't think i'm disrespecting portas, this entry just isn't about her. so anyways, rimmel is a make-up brand for young girls. moss is married with a nine year old in tow and on the wrong side of 35. despite being the face of rimmel for many years one might have thought that with the appearance of younger stars zooey deschanel and alexa chung in more recent campaigns, it was the end of moss's rimmel domination. and then bam! a new lipstick range with her name on it. maybe it was her recent marriage to the kills guitarist jamie hince that sparked a renewed interest in the british favourite, but whatever the reason behind rimmel's contract renewal, i think it's easy to see that despite her age, her settled family life, her cellulite, she's still kate moss - queen of the kids...but that's just my opinion...x

...is 24 year-old supermodel/actress rosie huntington-whiteley. most famous for modelling victoria's secret and replacing megan fox in the new transformers movie (and let's face it, those are some pretty big boots to be filled) the devon-born....errr...blonde? brunette? blondette is THE NEW FACE of fashion. ever since i first saw her modelling burberry alongside sam riley (actor, you might remember him from such films as 'control' where he played joy division's tragic frontman and not-so-secret hero of mine ian curtis) i knew this girl would be big. and it don't come much bigger than her most recent achievement. and no i'm not referring to her hollywood career. i'm speaking of her reaching the number one spot in FHM's 2011 sexiest women in the world list. as far as having an impact on the public can go, having thousands of men go to the trouble of tearing themselves away from porn/robson green's extreme fishing/more porn long enough to vote you sexiest woman alive is a mammoth achievement. sorry for the casual sexism there boys, we all love robson green's fishing adventures, but in the interests of effect please let this go by-the by.

need i show more? the thing i really like about her (and subsequently hate) is that apart from her perfect body-shape and beautiful face (grrr) in none-photoshoot shots she actually has a very innocent and child-like look about her. the contrast between the reality of the gal and the ability to "do sexy" when required makes the perfect supermodel. moss did it in the nineties. and i seem to remember she made a lot of money from that? something about being worth millions and having a clothing line in some relatively successful high street store? hmmm i'll look into the facts. i have a good feeling about this one so watch this space. bottom if she's good enough for statham (and the rest of the uk male population) then she's good enough for me. i'm predicting her own lingerie range in the not-so-distant future. cheers victoria's secret but ahhh BYE-BYE! she hella won't be needing them much longer. but that's just my opinion...x
