this SALE top from topshop, a meer £10!

let's not forget...

£60, office for these gladiator bad boys

this outfit will make you look cool. simple as. but that's just my opinion...x

"that's the way romance is...

...usually that's the way it goes, but every once in awhile, it goes the other way too"

today's influence, tony scott's directorial masterpiece (in my eyes) 'true romance'. this has to be the most romantic film of all time, forget all that ps i love you crap! it's perfect from beginning to end and the relationship between clarence (christian slater) and alabama (patricia arquette) is so sweetly sincere that you can't help but fall in love with them. the difference here though is that this film is packed full of violence. shooting, prostitution, drugs...taking 'true romance' as far beyond a chick flick as possible. the beauty of it is that both guys and girls will appreciate it in equal measure. if it was on at the cinema now i'd say it was the perfect first date film!

in summary, clarence and alabama meet and instantly fall in love with each other, get married the next morning and accidentally find a suitcase full of narcotics. they decide to sell it and use the money to start a new life together in paradise. however, unbeknown to the pair the drugs are mob contraband and both they and the police are on their tail. basically it's a modern version of the search for the american dream.

alabama is one of my all time favourite movie heroines, she's adorable, wears cute clothes but she's hard as nails! there's a scene in the film where she's alone in a hotel room and one of the mobsters finds her and basically beats the crap out of her because she refuses to tell him where the clarence and the coke is. a true testament to her love for clarence. here are a few pictures of the beautiful alabama, loving the ray-ban wayfarers by the way.

all beaten up

this is what she is wearing the first time she meets clarence in the cinema

so if you've not seen this film yet what are you waiting for? i just told you how good it is! it's violence meets romance, perfection...but that's just my opinion...x

girls who do boys...

...who do girls like they're boys. the point of this blur lyric is that my favourite shop at the moment is topman, by far. i imagine guys find it crap at the moment since all the clothes in there are so girly! i mean, short shorts?! what male can really pull them off? i almost pity them, but it's all working in my favour so ha!

think it boils down to the fact that i love oversized clothes. and also that topman is so much cheaper than topshop!

here are a few things that have caught my eye recently...

lovely oversized petrol coloured cardi at the bargain sale price of a tenner! kurt would have favoured this.

i have the short sleeved version of this already, this one is £16. cute with my diesel jeans and gold sandals.

£12. stripey, vesty, lovely. would look cool under a leather or denim jacket me thinks.

only £6!!! i bought this in blue the other day in size XL and it's just the right length to wear with leggings and some knee high boots! tres magnifque!

£36 for these bad boys which now come in a 28" waist with a shorter leg! that's £4 cheaper than topshop jeans and although mens jeans sit higher on the waist they still look awesome, i'm sick of muffin top syndrome anyway, one thing we can all blame the late alexander mcqueen for!

so seriously ladies forget topshop, with all it's high fashion glory and overpriced one season wonders. next time make a beeline straight to topman and get your hands on some reasonably priced leisurewear. you won't need to keep nicking your boyfriend's shit then will you? well, maybe you still will...

but that's just my opinion...x

i'm currently reading...

russell brand's autobiographical book of embarrassing nonsense 'my booky wook'. now this is not to say that the book is nonsense to read, it's just that his life story really is full of absolutely shameful and ridiculous incidents. he's so articulate is our russell which makes the book so engaging. every few chapters i stop and think, "between his failed education and all the years spent on heroin and various other narcotics, when the hell did he manage to take in so much culture and understanding of the english language?! it baffles me. and as a hopeful journalist also kind of sickens me.

he really is the anti-hero. some of his antics are so outrageous (yet hilarious) that one might doubt whether he deserved his fame, but there's also such a genuine honesty in his memoir that it makes you think he's justitfiably entitled to everything he's achieved.

his long suffering mum who is often the subject of his relayed tales has obviously, and brand himself admits, shaped the person he was to become. not that she led him down the gruesome path of drugs and slags but in terms of his desire to be the centre of attention. and let's face it, what good is a comedian who shys away from entertaining people? nice work missus, i mean can you imagine the comdedy world without russell brand?! ponderland anyone? bah ha ha ha hah! not even gonna get started on his role in 'forgetting sarah marshall', pisser.

so what i'm trying to say people is read this book, it might save your life. russell brand is living proof that you can make every wrong/bad/ludicrous decision in the book and still come out on top. on that note i'm off to do some homewrecking, smoking and generally to make an absolute nuisance of myself (habits i've recently adopted), cos russell brand did worse things than i'm doing and look where it got him.

but that's just my preposterous opinion...x
