a courtney love/hate story...

...so yea. i kind of love/hate courtney love. on one hand i suspect she might have had something to do with the death of my idol and the inspiration behind this blog, kurt cobain. on the other...well...she's just fucking cool. terribly shallow i know but i'm a sucker for a crazy lady with shit hot style. yes, she has got it wrong a few times, but haven't we all? i hate to be the one to say it but she gave a HOLE (geddit?) new meaning to 'heroin chic'. literally. the big skagrat.

so anyway i woke up this morning to hole's 'celebrity skin' (my trusty alarm tone for the last three months or so) and wondered why i hadn't yet written a contradictory blog entry about the legend that is love. i really don't know whether to champion or lampoon her (oooh lampoon, an ace word but one that i rarely find the opportunity to use in a sentence). i go through phases. i hate her when i remind myself that she used to go out with my number one celebrity crush, the devastatingly beautiful edward norton. i love her when i think about her fierce independence and her ability to stick two fingers up to...well, everyone.

having just recently had my heart ripped out, splattered up the wall, ran over by a, oh i don't know let's say for arguments sake a dark blue bmw t-reg estate, then eaten by wolves, i have to say i admire her 'independent woman' act at the moment. she would never put up with this shit! so i guess for the time being i'm in a pro-coutney phase. but enough drama, let's have a look at a few pictures so you can see exunkly what i mean, yes? cool.

...from the resort 2010 ready-to-wear collection by marc jacobs. this dress caught my eye because it reminds me of the dress julia roberts wears as vivian in pretty woman. you know the one i mean. the one she wears to the polo match where she tells that nosy woman "oh i'm not trying to land him, i'm just using him for sex".

i've really never liked clogs, every season they repeatedly rear their ugly heads. my (male) dentist wears them therefore putting me off for years and years. cos i hate going to the dentist and clogs invariably remind me of my bi-annual trip to the tooth doctor. but this time i'm convinced! i've just bought a really nice cream dress in lace from new look and i can't stop thinking about buying a pair of clogs to go with it! they're a timeless shoe style (once you've practiced walking in them anyways!) and i think we could all make room in our wardrobes for a pair. they're gnarley and i like the idea of making a racket when i walk in to a room. ok, driving test on friday, so if i pass i'm getting some to treat myself. hmmm...i'd better pass. cos they're soooo pretties. but that's just my opinion...x
