moddershall oaks hair and fashion show...

...hi gang, still no mac, but the show must go on, so bear with. just a few photo's of the show i was involved with over the weekend. it was to promote a hair salon and local clothing boutique and was held at moddershall oaks health and beauty spa, moddershall, stone, staffordshire.

i became involved last minute, so in a whirlwind coupl'a days i had a hair consultation, hd brow-over (www.hdbrows.co.uk for more info on this, HIGHLY recommended, i'm hooked!) fitting, actual hair appointment, body buffing and fake tanning !

below are the prof snaps of the hair, done by clare reeves at moddershall oaks hair salon, and taken by daniel moore. my hair was made darker on top, to contrast with the blonde dip dye. a few highlights were pulled through the ends and some darker pieces put in to the back to make a real contrast between the two colours and soften the line between them. my hair was then washed on the day, softly waved using starighteners then backcombed to f**k and put in to a messy fishtail plait! lots of pulling and scraping.

the make up was left really soft with smokey eye and peach gloss (gloss not shown on pics though cos we mis-laid it for a while!) all products were aveda so they were made of natural minerals which stayed put all day, great!

i haven't been able to get my hands on any photos of the actual catwalk show yet but if i do i'll stick em on.

new year, new hair...

...i like to change my hair up every now and then. this time last year it was pillar box red. then i went down the hollywood route and went for the long brunette barnett. then i decided to do this...

the dip dye. it's come a long way from the pink and blonde combo of beyonce's bootilicious days (grim) and thanks aguilera, but no thanks. mine will remain less DIRRRRTY and more, shall we say, fit.

hope you all like. i've taken influence from many'er celeb. ashlee simpson - always a hair fave of mine, caroline flack (hope this will get me my own harry stiles cos i got a MAJOR caroline flack for him ha) and rachel bilsson to name a few.

kudos to my friend danni who worked tirelessly until midnight to do this for me! an amazing job danni, thanks! and her first attempt at dip dye too, big clap!

it's not the best picture, i'll try to take more and post them another time. i'm really pleased with the result, maybe i'll go a shade braver next time too! watch this space...x

i have a girl crush...

...on drew. who don't? she's grunge, she's divorced from her parents, she was in rehab for drug addiction when she was only 13. she's in e.t.! love her. i have a pop magazine from a few years back that i just can't throw away (sorry, "recycle") cos it has these awesome photos of drew just defining kurtcouture! the cute bunnies and purple lipstick just sum up everything this blog is about. the contrast between the vivienne westwood check and cashmere jumper in the photo below are exactly what i look for in fashion and style

must also mention drew's love life. two very brief marriages including a 5 month marriage to comedian tom green (daddy would you like some sausage??) followed by a five year relationship with fab moretti from the strokes! fiiiiit! she's famously openly bisexual too, a rare public admition compared with the rest of hollywood. but then, should we surprised? the girl's been in the public eye since she was five.
