autumn's here...

...which means a new season wishlist the length of stoke-on-trent. at the moment, i'm getting all hot under the woolly collar for h&m's a/w collection. lots of camel, beige, burnt orange and brown, i'm aiming for camo-chic, resembling a leaf is gonna be massive this season...but that's just my opinion x

this is, like, sooo my favourite film...

...it's nineties classic clueless! i think i saw this when i was about 8 and completely fell in love with cher (she'd have been about 8 years older than me at the time, idol much?!) the hair, the clothes, the pals, what girl didn't want to be her?? my interest in fashion started around this era too so this movie has a lot to answer for, it made me into the person am today...ok let's not go nuts.

i always remember that despite there being several "baldwins" in clueless it was never about the boys for me, i was just totally engulfed in the AMAZING clothes! examples...

grrrr i can't find any good quality stills of the calvin klein or alaia dresses, but i guess if you're reading this (and feigning any sort of interest) you've seen the film and you know what i'm talking about.

the beauty of clueless is that it's not as girly-girl as you'd first think. it's 1994 and the era of grunge is still in full swing and there are several references to the fashion at the time, albeit comments of the unimpressed variety "So okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all but i don't get how guys dress today. I mean come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair - ew - and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we're expected to swoon at it? I don't think sooo"
